We are so delighted to announce that Susan Werner will be our keynote speaker for our 2024 FARM Gathering, taking place October 24-27 in Lisle, IL! Hailed as “one of the most innovative songwriters working today” (Chicago Tribune), she has leapt from genre to genre, climbing them like mountaintops.  Although best known as a touring singer/songwriter on the acoustic circuit, her live performances and recordings span an astonishing range of styles, from songs in the style of Gershwin and Cole Porter (I Can’t Be New, 2004), gospel music (The Gospel Truth, 2007), traditional Cuban “son” (An American In Havana, 2016), to New Orleans junk piano (NOLA, 2019) and Gulf and Western (The Birds of Florida, 2022). She just released her new Texas-themed album Halfway to Houston, and her score (music and lyrics) for Bull Durham, The Musical (based on the MGM film) will be heard in a Theatre Raleigh production of the show at Duke’s Reynolds Theater in Durham, NC this September. Susan was a part of FARM’S Wisdom Across the Ages panel in 2022, and we know she has a lot more wisdom to share so you won’t want to miss this dynamic speaker and thoughtful artist!

Registration for the 2024 Gathering opens Tuesday, February 20 at 10 am CST / 11 am EST.
