FARM Virtual Mentor Sessions are back!!

FARM is hosting occasional virtual mentor sessions with knowledgeable and experienced members of our music community who are willing to pass some of that on to you. Each month we’ll have 3 – 6 mentors available to talk with you on a multitude of topics. These are one on one 15 minute sessions held on Zoom.

Back by popular demand, we’ve curated a batch of amazing humans with extensive knowledge of the folk music industry and willingness to share that with you. Below you can read more about them (as if you don’t already know =)

Amber Buist

With a background in Marketing, a degree in Psychology, and 20+ years of Management experience in the Music Business, Amber has helped artists of all ages and genres level up their careers. Owner of OTB Management, Amber is currently managing Major Label artists, The Accidentals, songstress, May Erlewine, and newcomer Stephie James.

Kari Estrin

For almost five decades in the acoustic/roots community Kari’s vast experience includes innovative artist management & consulting, radio promotion & publicity, and concert/festival production, while also founding and supporting organizations that support the artist’s journey. Kari excels in radio & artist development/strategies with her holistic approach and successful track record.

Michael Kornfeld

MICHAEL KORNFELD is an award-winning public relations and communications strategist and writer, whose clients include independent recording artists and labels. He is also editor & publisher of AcousticMusicScene.com and a former contributing writer for The New York Times. Long active in media circles, he formerly served on the boards of both the Long Island and NYC chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists. He is a past president of two professional associations in the PR and communications field. Mike is currently president of the Folk Music Society of Huntington (a nonprofit presenting organization), a Folk Alliance International board member, and a board member and past president of the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA). He is a frequent panelist and mentor at music conferences, has been a judge for performing songwriter competitions, organizes and curates the annual Huntington Folk Festival, and hosts showcases and song swaps at conferences and festivals.

Reggie Harris

Reggie Harris has been a vital part of international folk and acoustic music circles for over 40 years. He is a songwriter, a storyteller, a Kennedy Center teaching artist and Co- President and the Music Education Director for the Living Legacy Project. He is as artist who entertains, educates and is committed to building community throughout the world.

Bruce Swan

Folk DJ on two radio stations, Host of successful weekly concert series, booking agent.

David Tamulevich

A performing singer/songwriter since 1975 with Mustard’s Retreat, David is a FARM Lifetime Achievement Award winner, and one of the original founder of FAI in 1989. He helped create the touring circuit in the 1980s & 90s, and is credited with helping forge a new model of cooperation between venues, artist and agents.
