FARM’s Virtual Performance Lane offers a limited number of pre-scheduled 10-minute performance showcases that take place on Zoom. This showcase is filled in order of sign-up. No jury selection. Just timing.

The performances are open to the public to attend via Zoom and will also be live-streamed to FARM’s Facebook Page and Youtube Channel.

When: 4th Thursday of the Month, January to June
Times: 8 pm Eastern / 7 pm Central

Next Event: Thursday June 27, 2024

Our last Virtual Performance Lane of 2024.  After this, we will all be focused on preparing for our conferene in October!

June’s host is Mike Ward!

Detroit singer-songwriter Mike Ward is known for his lyrically-centric, vocally-charged folk songs. While growing up in Port Huron, Michigan, he listened to the Irish music of his heritage and sang in several choirs before digesting the influential sounds of Simon & Garfunkel, Dylan, Springsteen and John Prine. These days, he finds inspiration in the works of Jason Isbell, Sarah Jarosz and Scott Cook. His intimate songwriting echoes through empty city streets, back country roads and family portraits. It also resides in the hidden spaces between joy and tragedy, love and loss.

Joining Mike will be Angela Ward, board member of the Trinity House Theater in Livonia, MI

Founded in 1981 by Paul Patton and members of Trinity Baptist Church in Livonia as a venue for live theatre, it was incorporated separately as a non-profit arts organization in 1988. The theatre’s focus switched to live music in 1999, and since then Trinity House has provided concert goers with one of the state’s best listening rooms.

Times: 8 pm Eastern / 7 pm Central

This will be an opportunity to play a mini showcase via Zoom and to a streaming audience on FARM’s Facebook and Youtube pages. The public is welcome to join the Zoom event and join in the chatting and fun. No charge to watch or play.

SOUNDCHECK

We don’t mean to be a hardass about this, however; we assume that by now, most artists are comfortable performing on Zoom. We do not expect to walk you through your sound settings. Those will be provided to you in advance or you can see them here. Sound checks are offered to, and strongly suggested for, pre-scheduled performers who arrive at the Zoom room no later than 7:30 ET/6:30 CT.  Sound checks are strongly suggested, and if there are sound issues we need to address during your performance slot, your 10-minute set will not be extended.
